The International English Summer Camp 2010

The International Summer Camp is now a well established course catering for students from Italy and abroad. In the past there have been students from Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, France and Poland.
Course Organiser
CLM BELL Trento, the leading language school in Trentino, which apart from being a member of EAQUALS (European Association of Quality Language Schools), also has over 40 years’ experience of teaching languages.
Location
The course is held in Candriai, a small village in the Dolomites near the city of Trento. The centre used is a modern establishment belonging to the local Provincial Government and the services are managed by a local cooperative. During the scholastic year, the centre is used for educational and environmental courses.
It is well equipped, set in its own park and has its own sports hall. The location of the centre gives students the opportunity to take full advantage of the mountain atmosphere.
Short cultural excursions are also organised, such as a visit to the nearby city of Trento, and to other sites of historical interest or beauty.
The Teachers
All the teachers are of English mother tongue, highly qualified and with wide experience of teaching English to young learners. The teachers will also be resident at the centre for the duration of the course, along with the students. We guarantee high standards of safety and supervision. There is always a minimum of one adult to every six students.
Course dates
Four courses have been programmed for 2010:
- 20.06 - 03.07.2010 from 12 to 16 years old
- 04.07 - 17.07.2010 from 8 to 11 years old
- 18.07 - 31.07.2010 from 12 to 16 years old
- 01.08 - 14.08.2010 from 8 ro 11 years old
- 15.08 - 28.08.2010 from 12 to 16 years old
Minimum requirements:
The courses are open to students of all nationalities who meet the age requirements for each course and who have studied English for at least a year at school (60 hours).
Students with the appropriate level of English and age (max. 13), will be given the opportunity to sit one of the Young Learners Exams (Starters, Movers) developed by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate.
Those students who complete the exam will receive an award indicating their level of achievement in three sections: Reading and Writing, Listening and Speaking. The Award shows a number of badges out of five for each section of the exam.
No extra fee is charged for the exams. At the end of the course all students will be given a course report.
Cost
- Enrolment fee, EURO 100.00
- Course fee (2 weeks), EURO 1.080.00, to be paid at least six weeks before the course starts;
Accommodation and Meals
Students in Candriai are accommodated in rooms of two/ three beds, complete with bathroom and shower. All meals are provided at the centre.
Clothes
Students will need to have:
- a couple of fleeces/pullovers;
- a pair of walking shoes;
- a rucksack;
- a waterproof jacket;
- swimming costume, cap and towel for the swimming pool;
- sports clothes and shoes;
- a pair of gym shoes;
Behaviour
Students are expected to attend all lessons and afternoon activities, apply themselves seriously while studying and doing homework, not leave the centre grounds without permission, respect all regulations of the Centre.

Should these rules be broken, after warning the student twice and having informed the parents of disruptive students of the problem, the Course Director may send any disruptive students home before the end of the course.
There will be no refund of the course fee in this case. CLM BELL cannot be held responsible for objects lost or left unattended by students at the Centre.
Arrival and Departure
Candriai: All students should arrive in Trento between 15.00 and 16.30 on the first day of the course. The meeting point will be in front of the "Palazzo della Regione" in Piazza Dante .
Students will then be taken by coach to the centre in Candriai.
On the last day of the course, students will be taken to Trento after breakfast. Parents can pick their children up from the Palazzo della Regione between 9.30 and 10.30 .
